2024 has officially come to a close. It was a year filled with notable movies and TV shows, as well as many tumultuous historical events. But as we bid farewell to 2024, it’s time now to look ahead to 2025. The new year promises some great new TV shows – and also some great returning ones.

In some cases, we’ve been waiting years for these shows to come back and give us the answers and conclusions we’ve been craving. Well, get your popcorn ready, make yourself comfortable on the couch, and flip on your TV. These ten highly anticipated shows are finally returning to our screens in 2025.

10’Yellowjackets' Season 3

Yellowjacketsis a thriller that follows a group of teenagers involved in a 1996 plane crash and the subsequent events in their adult lives in the year 2021. It features an ensemble cast that includes some big names, like Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci. It’s a bit likeLost,though its supernatural elements are more ambiguous. The first season ofYellowjacketspremiered on Showtime in 2021 and received critical acclaim. The series was renewed for a second season, which came out in 2023.

Fortunately, fans didn’t have to wait too much longer for the follow-up. The show’s highly anticipated third season will come out on July 05, 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime andwill reportedly be darker than previous seasons. Showtime has yet to renewYellowjacketsfor a fourth season, leaving its future as ambiguous as the show’s mysteries. Will season 3 end up being the finale season? 2025 will give us the answers.

Both fans and critics were pleasantly surprised by how goodAndorturned out to be. Lauded for its complex and mature story,Andor’sfirst season received critical acclaim and is regarded as one of the best installments in that galaxy far, far away. Fans have had to wait 3 years for the show’s second and final season, which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on July 25, 2025. And it seemsDisney is sparing no expense to make it.

Daredevil: Born Again

This returning series is a little different from other entries on our list. Back when the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was starting to take over the world, Netflix hadDaredevil.The action-packed series brought justice to this famous Marvel superhero, who was ripped apart in the 2003 film adaptation starring Ben Affleck.

The original Netflix series was dark, serious, gritty. It featured a stellar cast, including Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio’s empathetic take on the Marvel villain, Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal’s awesome Punisher. Between its critical acclaim and wide viewership,Daredevilwas one of Netflix’s biggest shows. A post-credits scene in the season 3 finale teased Benjamin Poindexter’s (Wilson Bethel) transformation into the Marvel villain, Bullseye – another character who was massacred in the 2003 film.

Everything changed, however, when Disney reattained the rights to Daredevil. Rather than have Netflix pay a large licensing fee to continue the series, Disney decided to keep the distribution rights for themselves.Daredevilwound up leaving Netflix and going to Disney+, where you’re able to still stream all three seasons. But Disney never did anything with theDaredevilseries, dropping it like a bad habit.

That is, until now.A Disney+ reboot,Daredevil: Born Again,is slated for a August 22, 2025 release and will be a part of the MCU. This series will bring back some of the original cast, including Cox, D’Onofrio, Bernthal, and Bethel. Given this news, we can assume thatDaredevil: Born Againwill continue some storylines from season 2, though there will undoubtedly be some kind of time jump.

6’Severance' Season 2

Severanceis perhaps the sleeper hit on our list. It’s not as popular or as well-known as other entries on our list, and in general, Apple TV+ doesn’t attract the same viewership as other streaming giants like Netflix. But regardless of that,Severanceis arguably the best series returning to our screens in 2025. A blend of sci-fi and psychological thrills, it follows a cast of employees who have agreed to a “severance” program, where their non-work memories are separated from their work memories. Talk about enhancing your work-life balance.

Led by an all-star cast that includes Adam Scott, John Turturro, and Patricia Arquette, the first season ofSeverancewas met with widespread critical acclaim and was ranked a top 10 show of 2022 on several critics' lists. Its highly anticipated second season is coming to Apple TV+ on July 08, 2025. The show’s executive producer,Ben Stiller, promises answers to some big questions, as well as more twists and turns to blow our minds.

Each season explores different characters and storylines in a different White Lotus resort in a different exotic location. And things usually end in madness.

The White Lotus’cast tends to include big names, such as Connie Britton and Sydney Sweeney in season one and Michael Imperioli and Aubrey Plaza in season 2. And then of course, there’s Jennifer Coolidge, who’s played the only character to appear in multiple seasons so far. Although it has only two seasons,The White Lotushas garnered critical acclaim, becoming a fan-favorite series and the latest craze on HBO.The show’s highly anticipated third seasonis expected to drop on July 18, 2025.

The first two seasons ofThe White Lotustook us to Hawaii and Sicily respectively. For ​​​​​​the third season, we’ll be traveling to Thailand. Natasha Rothwell – who played Belinda Lindsey in season 1, the manager of The White Lotus' spa in Maui – will be reprising her role for season 3. Literally.Squid Gamebecame Netflix’s most-watched series after clocking an impressive 1.6 billion hours watched, a Netflix record that it still holds today. The show’s tremendous success forced Netflix to greenlight another two seasons.

Season 2 was just released a few weeks ago. And despite criticisms of its story and the games used in the competition, season 2 ofSquid Gamehas proven to be another success. Within its first three days of release, season 2 clocked 68 million views, exceeding Netflix’s premiere viewership record previously held byWednesday. In an interesting move, the show’s third and final season was filmed back-to-back with its second season.Season 3 is slated for a 2025 releaseand will undoubtedly bringSquid Gameto a violent and bloody conclusion.

Over the last two years, fans have been itching for the fifth and final season, eagerly waiting to see howStranger Thingswraps up its various storylines.

The fifth season is finally set to release in 2025, though we don’t have an official date just yet.
