Awards show madness has officially kicked off in Hollywood, as the nominations for the 77th annualGolden Globeshave arrived this morning. The nominations were made live direct from Los Angeles, California.
Ahead of the pack for movies this year is director Noah Baumbach’sMarriage Story. It picked up a total of 6 nominations, more than any other movie this year. It is up for Best Film Drama, with stars Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver both garnering nominations. Baumbach got one for best director. Randy Newman is nominated for Best Score. And Laura Dern is up for Best Supporting Actress.

Close behind was Martin Scorsese’sThe Irishmanwith five nominations, making this a very good year at the Golden Globes for Netflix, as both movies were made specifically for and by the streaming service. Quentin Tarantino’sOnce Upon a Time in Hollywoodalso scored five nominations, though it is in the Best Film Comedy or Musical Catagory.
Jokerwas also nominated, as many expected it would be. It came in with 4 nominations, with both Joaquin Phoenix scoring a nomination for Best Actor and Todd Phillips' getting recognized for his work as director.
On the TV side of things, it is a packed and crowed house. HBO’sChernobylwas pushed up beside Netflix’sThe CrownandUnbelievable. All three shows managed to nab four nominations apiece.
