Centered around a British street gang in Birmingham, England,Peaky Blindersfinally returns for its sixth and final season. Many of the scenes featuring drunken violence and debauchery take place on their home turf; however, gang leader Thomas “Tommy” Shelby (Cillian Murphy) must travel across Europe in order to survive. Along the way, Tommy encounters other gang leaders who play pivotal roles in the show, none of whom have arguably made a bigger impact on the screen thanTom Hardy’s character, Alfie Solomons.
Alfie Solomons, leader of a Jewish gang out of London, first appears in season 2 when Tommy and Alfie team up to take down a rival Italian gang. Since this point in the show, the two respected leaders have more than one butting of heads. Alfie double crosses Tommy again and again in the following two seasons, which peaks in a memorable scene in which Tommy and Alfie meet on the beach and Tommy shoots Alfie directly in the face from close range. It was therefore assumed that Tom Hardy’s character was dead, concluding his presence on the show. However, Season 5 showed that Alfie was alive, despite his gunshot wound to the head and battle with terminal cancer. Now thatit’s confirmed that Tom Hardy’s character is back in action, we break down the five things that we want to see inPeaky Blinders' upcoming season 6.

6Alfie Teams Up With Tommy Once Again to Fight Nazis
In this recently released teaser, Tommy makes a visit to the London distillery where Alfie houses his criminal organization. In this short clip, Tommy tells Alfie that he has one last act for Alfie to perform before his exit. It doesn’t take genius to know that a Jewish gang leader would take issue with the growing fascist movement. The show has been predominantly based on historical events, which leads us to believe that if there’s one enemy evil and powerful enough to unite Alfie and Tommy, despite their own violent history, it’s certainly the Nazi party.
4A Glorious Onscreen Death For Arthur Shelby
Throughout the show, fans have followed Arthur’s journey through life as he struggles to manage his behavior, usually resulting in fits of rage that stem from drug and alcohol abuse. Although Arthur is more brawns than brains, he is certainly one of the toughest members of the family and is constantly looking out for Tommy and the others. In the season 6 trailer, their sister Ada Thorne comments that one of them wasn’t going to be around for much longer. Arthur (played by Paul Anderson)has been through a wild ride of disappointments and triumphs. Perhaps the only fitting ending to his story his giving up his life for the family.
3A Storyline Behind Polly’s Absence That Honors Helen McCrory
Polly, matriarch of the family and Tommy’s aunt, was played by Helen McCrory who sadlypassed away in the last year after losing her battle with cancerat the age of 52. Polly plays a large role in the show, acting as a leader in the gang’s operations and advisor to her sometimes reckless nephews. As the show progresses and Tommy continues to take more leadership of the Peaky Blinders, Polly played a role in bridging the gap between Tommy and the rest of the family. Now that she’s gone, it’s paramount to handle her character’s departure with grace and cleverness, and in a way that honors McCrory’s legacy.
2Tommy Defeats Mosley in a Western-Style Showdown
There have been many villains of the show, but Oswalt Mosely is arguably the best. His ability to shift from a potentially dangerous tyrant to a mild-mannered house guest is quite impressive. We know what Mosley stands for and what party he is going to represent in season 6. Therefore, we are hoping for a showdown between him and Tommy, an even match between two powerful men. In theseason 5 finale,Tommy plans to assassinate Mosely during one of his rallies, but the plan fails when the hired gunmen are taken out by unknown enemies who may have been tipped off by a traitor—or perhaps Oswalt Mosely is that cunning. If there was another opponent that gave Tommy a run for his money, it was Alfie. Perhaps Tommy’s last wish for Alfie is to finish the job that his men couldn’t, or maybe the two will work together like they did to defeat the Italians. Either way, the next assassination attempt should be close and personal.

1Tommy Takes on Major Political Role & Leaves the Gang Life Once and For All
After Alfie assists Tommy in his victory against Mosely (hopefully), it would be nice to see him escape his battle with past traumas: including the horrors of his time as a trench soldier in WW1, death of his first wife, death of family members combined with his opium dependency and longing for his own death. He has steadily become more of a political figure, which is highlighted in his visit with Winston Churchill in early season 5.
