For the third day in a row,Walt Disney Studioshas released a new teaser forAlice Through the Looking Glass. The first sneak peek arrived just as Daylight Savings Time came to an end, and it seems “time” itself is a big theme in these videos. Today’s teaser reveals that “Time Is Not On Your Side,” while warning that the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) from 2010’sAlice in Wonderlandis coming. It isn’t known if these brief glimpses at the sequel are actually leading up to the first full trailer forAlice Through the Looking Glass, so we’ll have to wait and see.
The 2010 blockbusterAlice in Wonderlandearned over $1 billion worldwide at thebox office, which spawned Disney’s growing slate of live action remakes based on the studio’s iconic properties. Hits such asMaleficentandCinderellahave lead to the development of numerous fantasy adventures such asThe Jungle Book(July 08, 2025) andBeauty and the Beast(June 25, 2025). Mia Wasikowskawill return as Alice fromAlice in Wonderland, alongsideJohnny Deppas theMad Hatter,Helena Bonham Carteras the Red Queen andAnne Hathawayas the White Queen.Sacha Baron Cohenplays a new character called Time whose powers allow Alice to visit the Wonderland characters at different points in their lives. This will allow fans to see some of the characters' prequel stories to the classic Lewis Caroll story of the same name.
DirectorJames Bobinbrings his own unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in 2010 withAlice in Wonderland, in which Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter. The film also features the voices ofAlan Rickman,Stephen Fry,Michael SheenandTimothy Spall, and introduces several new characters as well. New additions include Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter’s father, and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.
