Ever sinceAmerican Horror Storypremiered on FX back in 2011, the show has debuted its new seasons in October, which makes sense given the show’s proximity to the Halloween holiday. This year, FX decided to change things up a bit, issuing a September 14premiere date. With the show coming to the small screen a bit earlier, that means the first trailers have arrived earlier as well, with FX debuting six brief teasers today.
FX ordered the sixth installment of the groundbreaking and award-winninganthologylimited series back in November, but very few details have been revealed thus far. It has been confirmed thatAmerican Horror Story: HotelstarLady Gagawill be back, but the network nor the producers have confirmed any other cast members or story details. We don’t get many hints from these teaser trailers, via YouTube, but it’s clear there will be some sort of a hillbilly presence this season. We do hear a chainsaw, and the action all appears to be taking place at a spooky farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. There is a definteThe Hills Have EyesandChildren of the Cornvibe going on. And one of Leatherface’s old chandeliers gets retrofited specifically for this occasion. Here’s what FX’sJohn Landgrafhad to say about the series in a statement released last year.
“With the sixth installment coming next year,American Horror Storyhas unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series. FromMurder Houseto Hotel,AHShas pioneered a new television form as well becoming FX’s highest rated show, while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity. This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver.”
