Andy Dick Has Long Been Controversial

There have also been reported instances of Andy Dick havingproblematic behavioron movie sets. In 2015, it was reported that Dick had been fired from his role in the James Buchanan biopicRaising Buchanan. One day after he shot his role as Lancaster Guy, which later had to be re-shot with Robert Ben Garant, it was alleged that Dick has been acting inappropriately with his co-stars, prompting complaints that led to his removal from the film.

Reportedly, Dick’s behavior was alleged to include “groping people’s genitals, unwanted kissing/locking, and sexual propositions of at least four member of the production.” At the time, Dick released a statement, perTHR, suggesting that the claims had been blown out of proportion and that he’s never groped anyone. Though, he did admit that he may have “licked” some of his co-workers that day. As Dick explained:

“My middle name is ‘misconduct.’ They know what they signed up for… I don’t grope people anymore. I don’t expose myself anymore. I do understand that the temperature in the world right now is delicate. I didn’t grope anybody. I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. That’s my thing — I licked Carrie Fisher at a roast. It’s me being funny. I’m not trying to sexually harass people."

Dick also said he may have tried to pursue “a date” with certain people he’d met, but insisted that he’d always moved on anytime he was rejected. The comedian also claimed to have learned his lesson.

“I didn’t grab anybody’s genitals. Of course I’m going to proposition people. I’m single, depressed, lonely and trying to get a date. They can just say no, and they probably did and then I was done… I won’t do it anymore. I won’t lick anyone’s face anymore. We have an agreement.”
