DC fans are eagerly waiting for updates from Matt Reeves’The Batman Part II. But, leave it to Bruce Wayne’s trusty butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis) to know what’s going to happen in the upcoming sequel. Reeves' first film,The Batman, was an astounding success, cementing Robert Pattinson as one of the best big screen versions of Bruce Wayne. Following the breakawaysuccess of HBO’sThe Penguinspin-off series,the hype forThe Batman Part IIhas never been more palpable.

The status ofThe Batman Part II’sscript is currently uncertain, as reports have suggested that the script is complete, while others believe it is still being written. Andy Serkis didn’t talk about the status of the film’s script, but during a recent appearance at MegaCon 2025 (viaLove Our Life), the actor teased the audience by revealing thatMatt Reeves had told him what happens in the upcoming movie.“I am as hungry for it as you all are,” Serkis began, before dropping the bombshell:

“I did press in England with [Matt Reeves] for ‘The Penguin’… and he told me the story of ‘The Batman 2,’ and I was so excited for it!”

If that reveal wasn’t cruel enough, Serkis continued,“So the story is… No I’m not gonna tell you.“The audience erupted in laughter, with a slight hint of jealousy, as Serkis sat on stage for the rest of the panel, knowing everyone in attendance was desperate to know the plot ofThe Batman Part II. Pattinson is confirmed to be returning for the sequel as Bruce Wayne, as is Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Despite the film potentially not having a completed script yet,Reeves is adamant that the sequel will begin shootingthis year. Serkis learning about the plot already should be a positive sign of where the film is at in development.
