Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniabrings some big changes to the MCU, not least with the second appearance by Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. However, it will also bring in the third actress to star in the Marvel franchise as Cassie Lang, the daughter ofPaul Rudd’s Scott Lang. When it comes to joining the franchise, actressKathryn Newtonhas been quick to heap praise on Rudd for helping her quickly feel like one of the team. While discussing her role withEntertainment Tonight, Newton said:

“Every day. Every day he did something that was like, ‘I can’t believe you actually can do this Paul.’ He just told me not to hold back and I think that’s the greatest blessing ‘cause then I just tried everything on set every day. I tried jokes. Maybe they were funny, maybe they weren’t. That’s all you can ask for."

Shang-Chi Is on Track to Obliterate Labor Day Weekend Box Office Record

From the first trailer, it has been made clear that Cassie plays an integral role in the MCU’sMultiverse Sagamovie, creating a device that sendsa beacon into the Quantum Realm, which in turn appears to bring Ant-Man and his little band into a micro world hidden within our own reality, where there are more dangers that they are possibly ready to face. While it appears that this will end up being another big step towards the climacticAvengers: Secret Wars, there are plenty of surprises to come along the way.

DoesAnt-Man 3Connect to Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is very careful with its connectivity throughout its many branches and storylines. TheAnt-Man 3trailer has brought with it some fan speculation over the device created by Cassie, which she says is sending a beacon out into the Quantum Realm, and clearly attracts some attention. There has been a similar mention of a beacon being sent out into the unknown in the post-credits scene ofShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and the similarities have been noticed.

There has been no word on whenwe may see Shang-Chi return, but with several gaps to be filled in Phase 6, it is possible that we could see another Shang-Chi movie sometime before the finale of theMultiverse Saga. Whether the Ten Rings and their pulsing beacon that appears to be summoning something from the darkness of space is linked to the events ofAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawill maybe be addressed sooner rather than later.

Phase 4 of the MCU will end with this month’s release ofBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, and while that movie seems to be a definite chapter closer, it will only be three months before Marvel fans are thrown back into the multiverse story arc. With so many pieces already in play, the game is about to step up the pace, andAnt-Man and The Wasp: Quantumanialooks like not only the biggest Ant-Man movie to date, but also will contain many clues as tohow the Saga will progress across the coming phases.Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawill arrive in theaters on July 13, 2025.
