Last night afterThe Academy Awards,Jimmy Kimmel Live!held his annual post-Oscars special on ABC, which featured a number of stars includingBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’sBen Affleck. During his interview segment withJimmy Kimmel, the star revealed that aBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicescene he shot with the talk show host had to be cut for time, but, thankfully, he brought this clip for everyone to see. Unfortunately, this scene won’t be featured whenBatman v. Superman: Dawn of Justicehits theaters on March 25, but it certainly is entertaining.
Of course, this isn’t an actual scene fromBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it’s a parody of one scene we’ve seen in the previously released trailers, withHenry Cavill’s Clark Kent meetingBen Affleck’s Bruce Wayne for the first time.Jimmy Kimmelplays himself. Things take a hilarious turn when he figures out that Clark is actuallySupermanand Bruce is actuallyBatman. We also get an appearance fromJesse EisenbergasLex Luthor, plus a few more special surprises.
The notion of Clark Kent’s “disguise” of simple glasses has long been a topic of discussion among superhero and comic book fans, and this scene pokes fun at how people can’t seem to figure out that Clark is Superman. Bruce, of course, has an iconic cowl and batsuit to hide behind as Batman, but when Bruce lets his deeper Batman voice slip out,Jimmy Kimmelfigures it out. Of course, at some point, Bruce and Clark will most likely discover each other’s alter-egos in the movie, since they will eventually team up inJustice League Part 1, which starts shooting this spring.
Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground andSupermanis the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth. As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned,Supermanis clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to rightSuperman’s wrongs. The rivalry between them is furious, fueled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.
