A month ahead of the release ofBen Stiller’s workplace thriller onApple TV+,Severancehas revealed its first full-length trailer. Written and created by Dan Erickson and directed and executive produced by Emmy and Director’s Guild of America Award winner Ben Stiller, the series will starAdam Scottas the lead.
The Apple TV+ series follows the story of Mark Scout (played by Adam Scott), who leads a team at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone a dystopian surgical procedure to “divide” their work and personal lives. The show features a rather dark take on the ‘work-life balance' question, as it follows Scout’s story as he first consents to undergo the procedure. However, he soon starts to uncover mysteries at work and in his personal life, where he questions the true nature of his job, and gradually, himself. Basically, the show attempts to question whether a person’s work and personal life are really exclusive to each other, and it does so by following the interaction between workers at Lumon Industries who have the ability to remove their personal memories when they enter the workplace while erasing their memories of work on their way out. Given the premise, the opening dialogue of the trailer, spoken by Adam Scott, gains utmost significance:

Adam Scott is Only One of The Big Names Associated with Severance
The workplace thriller series will star, apart from Adam Scott, big names like Academy Award-winningChristopher Walken, along with Michael Chernus, Tramell Tillman, Britt Lower, Emmy Award-winning John Turturro, as well as Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, and Zach Cherry.Severancealso sees Ben Stiller team up with Academy Award andEmmy Award-winnerand hisEscape at DannemoraleadPatricia Arquette, although this time Stiller will be behind the scenes. Aside from presiding over the project as Executive Producer, Stiller has directed six of the nine episodes of the series.All of This Unreal TimeandKissing Candicedirector Aoife McArdle has directed the other three.
Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott have produced the series under the banner of Endeavor Content. As mentioned before, Stiller, Nicky Weinstock, and Jackie Cohn are executive producing under the banner of Red Hour Productions, and joining them in the post are Erickson, Mark Friedman, Chris Black, John Cameron, and Andrew Colville.
Severancepremieres on February 18 with two episodes, with new weekly installments every Friday until the season finale.
