In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Murray was asked who he’d like to play him in Jason Reitman’s upcomingSNL 1975film. Murray toldET:
I don’t know. Of all the people that came after me, I think I really enjoyed… I think Kenan Thompson. He can play me. Or Bill Hader. Those two, or Kristen Wiig. Any of those three could play me. Or Amy Poehler.
Murray made sure to mention that Reitman’s origin film aboutSNLkeys in on the original seven cast members, who are also known as “The Not Ready for Prime Time Players.” Murray only joined the late-night sketch comedy show after Chevy Chase departedSaturday Night Liveafter less than two seasons to pursue what became a very successful film career.

The late John Belushi is going to be portrayed by Matt Wood, while Dylan O’Brien takes on Dan Aykroyd and Lamorne Morris rounds out the male cast members as Garrett Morris.
