In a troubling bit of production news, a high-profile project is now going through some turbulent production issues. Despite the movie having already wrapped. The film in question isLone Wolf, aBryan CranstonandLily Gladstone-led political action thriller filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, just earlier this year.Lone Wolfis facing financial trouble due to its inability to pay some of the crew involved in the film’s production, despite filming having already wrapped in February. The news may come as a shock, and at this point, it’s hard to tell exactly how this will impact the upcoming release of the movie, much less the press for the high-profile actors involved in the project.
Described as a movie about a troubled veteran (Gladstone) who is recruited by a contractor (Cranston) for a shadowy Governmentplot to assassinatea politician,Lone Wolfhas the makings of a good film, judging by its intriguing plot and impressive talent in front of the camera. Behind the lens, though, is where the trouble lies. The exclusive report from Deadline indicates that close to $1 million in pay is missing in the production budget, with several team members still awaiting payment for their work that wrapped early in 2025.

Forgotten ‘Power Rangers’ Film With Bryan Cranston & Elizabeth Banks Finds New Streaming Home
The 2017 movie received mixed reviews upon release.
This issue is even more perplexing because the shoot schedule, which was supposed to last 25-plus days according to Deadline, was cut short to 20. Moreover, reports from the crew on the film have stated that the wrap on the movie was unceremonious, with no wrap party or show of thanks to those involved.
‘Lone Wolf’ Producers & Crew Don’t Know Who To Blame for the Financial Woes
Despite all the issues, sources close to the film say that the cast and crew involved still did their best under the strenuous circumstances. Deadline spoke to one crew member onLone Wolf, who described how payment issues led to Union intervention. According to the crew member, everyone would be left wondering day-to-day if they would have to stop working at a moment’s notice: As the source explained:
Morale was low among crew given the issues over pay, Everyone came to work and gave their all but there were fewer and fewer smiles. We were prepared to down tools every Friday because there were multiple delays in payment. There was clearly something off and we could see the producers scrambling for money.”

Financiers and producers on the film, such as Rabbits Black and Wagner Entertainment, have both since issued statements saying they met their financial obligations toLone Wolf, and that the problem didn’t stem from either of the companies. Overall, it seems like a confusing situation for a film production to be in, but it wouldn’t be the first. A similar situation was reported late last month aboutSimon Pegg’s latest film halting productiondue to a “funding crisis.” Hopefully, these issues can be solved sooner rather than later, and these sorts of production woes won’t become the start of a trend in other mid-budget movies.
