We’re closing in on the first year anniversary sinceStar Wars: The Force Awakensdebuted in theaters last December, and we’re still getting surprises from this initial franchise kick-starter. Shortly after the movie hit, we heard about quite a few deleted scenes that never made it into the movie, and were subsequently left off the initial Blu-ray release. A lot of thosedeleted sceneswill finally be unveiled whenThe Force AwakensCollector’s Edition hits store shelves in November. Today, we have a first look at one of the more notorious missing moments.
Star Wars: The Force AwakensCollector’s Edition will arrive November 15, and it promises all-new special features to pore over.Entertainment Weeklyhas our first look at one scene in particular that features a meet-up between iconic Star Wars wookieChewbaccaand the notorious junk dealer Unkar Plutt, played byStar Trek’s own Simon Pegg.

Plutt has somehow managed to track down Rey, who made off with his prized possession, the Millennium Falcon. He finds her withHan Solo, Finn and Chewbacca at Maz Kanata’s castle on the planet Takodana. And he makes some wild threats at the girl for having stolen his ship. Rey pulls a blaster on Unkar, but he is able to disarm her. When things begin to get a little rough, that’s when Chewy steps in. There is more to this scene that isn’t shown. And it looks like you’ll have to buy thecollector’s editionto get the best bit. EW says this.
“Let’s just say, Chewbacca disarms him. We’re talking literally. Rip! Plorp! A limb goes flying and lands on the gambling table, earning a high-pitched scolding from Warwick Davis' character Wollivan.”

The scene is a direct call back to A New Hope, when Han Solo warned C-3PO that wookies rip limbs off when they lose. And it’s basically a bit offan servicethat was deemed too over the top for the final film. It doesn’t really serve any purpose, nor does it keep the momentum of the plot moving forward. Though, it is fun to finally see this moment none-the-less, especially since we’ve heard quite a bit about it over the past year. You can take a look at part of the deleted scene here.
