Man of the hourAndrew Garfieldis a huge fan of the Netflix seriesCobra Kai, and we just might see the actor make an appearance on the show someday. Garfield, who’s known for his role in theSpider-Manfranchise and stars in the new Netflix movieTick, Tick…Boom!, previously spoke about how much he lovedCobra Kai. The cast of theKarate Kidsequel series then surprised Garfield with a special message thanking him, and his reaction is priceless.
Because Garfield is aCobra Kaisuperfan, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that he could make an appearance on the show. This possibility was recently presented byColliderto theCobra Kaicreators: Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald. For his part, Hurwitz would be on board to bring in Garfield to play a character totally unexpected from the actor and unlike anyone else in the show. However, he avoids getting too specific, as he’s holding out hope that a Garfield casting could end up happening.

“I don’t even know how to answer that right now. I will say that we were giddy as well when we saw his reaction and how much he loves the show. We’re all fans of his. He’s such an amazing talented actor that you’d want to find something that is surprising. I think that you’d give him a unique look and a unique feel and unique angle and make him unlike any other character in the show. I think that’s where we’d start. But as to any specifics, I probably shouldn’t say anything because, who knows? Maybe he will be on the show and I don’t want take any chances of ruining that."
Schlossberg has some ideas on where to take Garfield’s hypothetical character if he joins the show. Because the actor seemed to be partial to Miyagi-Do, Schlossberg presumes it’d be best for Garfield to interact with Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso.
“I know in the video Andrew Garfield had mentioned Miyagi-Do forever, so I have a feeling that he’s gonna gravitate towards Daniel LaRusso.”
Another pitch offered up by Heald would be for Garfield to come in as an antagonist, playing a Mr. Burns-like billionaire who shows up in town with nefarious intentions.
“I feel like he’s a tech billionaire who buys out all the auto sales places in the valley and becomes just the ultimate foil for everybody.”
Cobra Kaiis one of today’s hottest shows, and there’s a lot of anticipation heading into its fourth season. After Netflix kicked off 2021 with season 3 on the first of the year, the fourth season will be dropping on New Year’s Eve.Season 5 has already wrapped filmingso we can presume the wait for the next season shouldn’t be horrendous. The future of the show after that remains unclear, but ifCobra Kaiis just as popular by the time season 5 rolls around, we might get season 6 and beyond.
As for Andrew Garfield, many of his fans are demanding his return as Peter ParkerinThe Amazing Spider-Man 3after watchingSpider-Man: No Way Home. He can also be seen in the new Netflix movieTick, Tick…Boom!
