Written and directed by Drew Hancock, and produced by acclaimedBarbariandirector Zach Cregger,Companionhas an elusive description that reads:“A weekend getaway turns bloody and violent when a subservient android that’s built for human companionship goes haywire.“Thatcher already has an impressive portfolio of horror projects under her belt, including last year’sHereticand the horror hitMaXXXine,so fans are excited to see her back in the genre domain. Quaid is also no stranger to the genre, having appeared in 2022’sScreamas well as Prime Video’sThe Boys(it’s not strictly horror, but it ishorrifying).

At the time of writing, the film is sitting at a 7.4 on IMDb, with early preview audiences seemingly impressed, but how will it fare once it opens to the public this Friday?Check out the trailer for the film below.

Zach Cregger Knows How to Please Horror Fans

Already confirmed to bewriting and directing another reboot of the classic sci-fi horror franchiseResident Evil,Cregger has not only earned the trust of fans, but studios as well, and his backing ofCompanionas producer bodes well for the new film. The filmmaker seems to get what fans are wanting, with the success ofBarbarianproving that he’s what the industry needs. WhileCompanionisn’t out just yet, a few of the lucky ones to have seen the film already have recorded their thoughts on Letterboxd.

Most users are in line with the film’s 91% RT score and had some interesting thoughts, spoiler-free of course, about where the film succeeds. Many had praise for both Thatcher and Quaid.
