The future ofDaredevil: Born Againmight have been revealed by a recent report, which suggests the series could run as long as its Netflix predecessor. The past few days have been rough for fans ofBorn Again, following Charlie Cox’s mistakenly saying that Season 2 would be the last.Cox clarified his statement, also claiming thatDaredevil: Born AgainSeason 2 would not be the last. A new rumor suggests thatDaredevil: Born Againwon’t be ending soon, but a conclusion is in sight.
Nexus Point Newsis reporting that Marvel Studios is planning forDaredevil: Born Againto run for three seasons, with the hope of announcing a renewal for Season 3 in March 2026, shortly after Season 2 debuts. The plan appears to be to filmBorn AgainSeason 3 in summer 2026, likely aiming for a 2027 premiere date. However, Nexus Point News notes that all of this depends on the reaction toDaredevil: Born AgainSeason 2. The future of the series beyond the third season also apparently hinges on Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s getting a new contract from Marvel. Marvel Television has not commented on the story.

Daredevil’s MCU Future, Explained
With Marvel expected to renewDaredevil: Born Againfor Season 3, it certainly raises some interesting questions about the future of the MCU. If it aims for a spring 2027 release, that means it will be released beforeAvengers: DoomsdayandSecret Wars. Part of the reason for the three-season plan could be that theMarvel Cinematic Universe is looking at a reset followingSecret Warsto bring in characters like the X-Men. Meaning that Daredevil’s story could be wrapped up before Phase 7 begins.
With Marvel Televisionlooking to drastically scale backto one or two live-action shows a year, it explains whyDaredevil: Born Againmight be looking to conclude. It is highly unlikely Marvel Television wants to dedicate all of its television efforts to just one character, as there are still plenty of heroes whose stories are left to explore.Ironheart,Ms. Marvel,andShe-Hulkare all worthy of getting a Season 2, for instance. Even ifDaredevil: Born Againdoes conclude, that doesn’t mean it is the end of Daredevil’s story, and he could appear in multiple titles, including a feature film. Fans are still hoping that Cox’s Daredevil at least gets a cameo inSpider-Man: Brand New Dayafter his lawyer alter ego showed up inNo Way Home.

IfDaredevil: Born Againdoes get a third season and concludes, that means the series will have run as many seasons as its Netflix counterpart. Assuming Season 2 and potentially Season 3 have nine episodes each, likeBorn AgainSeason 1, that means the series will run 27 episodes. Combine that with the 39 episodes of his original series, eight episodes ofThe Defenders, and guest appearances inShe-Hulk: Attorney at LawandEcho, and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock / Daredevil will have appeared in 77 episodes of television. For comparison, that is just three episodes shy ofthe original run forStar Trek: The Original Series. That’s a good run for the Man Without Fear, particularly for fans who remember how it felt in 2018 when his series was canceled.
