Last month,Marvelannounced thatproductionhad started in Atlanta onGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which has already been set for release on June 06, 2025. The studio confirmed a number of new cast members, but today, a report fromNew York Daily Newsclaims the production has landed another major star,Sylvester Stallone. Naturally, the studio hasn’t confirmed that the actor has signed on, but there’s plenty of evidence to support that he has joined the cast.

The site spottedSylvester Stalloneleaving an Atlanta hotel where all of the cast members are staying, and he was seen holding a script as well. After leaving the hotel, the actor reportedly got into a car that is normally assigned to starChris Pratt, before being taken away, presumably to theGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2set. Of course, he could have been holding a script to a different movie, and it isn’t known exactly where he went, but it certainly seems possible that the recent Oscar nominee may have a role in the sequel.

The site’s source mentions thatSylvester Stallonemost likely only has a cameo appearance inGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but his role has yet to be confirmed. It’s possible that he could be playing Star-Lord’s father, but it has been widely speculated thatKurt Russellhas landed that role, although his character’s identity has yet to be revealed, and most likely won’t be announced until the movie hits theaters next summer. The studio hasn’t revealed any plot details yet, so it’s anybody’s guess whoSylvester Stallonemay be playing.

The film marks the return of the originalGuardians, includingChris Pratt(Jurassic World,Guardians of the Galaxy) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord;Zoe Saldana(Guardians of the Galaxy,Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora;Dave Bautista(Spectre,Guardians of the Galaxy) as Drax;Vin Diesel(Guardians of the Galaxy,Furious 7) as the voice of Groot;Bradley Cooper(Joy,American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket;Michael Rooker(Guardians of the Galaxy,Jumper) as Yondu;Karen Gillan(Guardians of the Galaxy,The Big Short) as Nebula; andSean Gunn(Guardians of the Galaxy,Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members includePom Klementieff(Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby,Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick,The Drop) andKurt Russell(The Hateful Eight,Furious 7).James Gunndirects the sequel from his own screenplay.
