The feature was first announced back in 2022 underthe mysterious titleDust Bunny, and it seems that the creative team behind the film are now ready to blow out the cobwebs and share some fresh details about what to expect from the beautifully twisted tale, with a first-look image and release date finally out in the wild after three years of waiting.

Collider has unveiled the debut image ofDust Bunnyas well as confirming a release date of June 15, 2025. The first-look photo (shared below) offers a glimpse of the film’s star-studded cast, as Sophie Sloan is pictured alongside Mikkelsen andSigourney Weaver. The setting is decidedly whimsical, seemingly taking a page out ofAlice in Wonderland’s book, as the three are seated for afternoon tea, surrounded by flowers and pastel colors, giving off fairy tale vibes. There are no monsters in sight and another key member of the cast — celebrated character actorDavid Dastmalchian— is also missing from the quaint scene.

Fuller is a television writer and producer known forcreating critically acclaimed showslikePushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, andWonderfalls, as well as being the mastermind behindHannibal, which ran for three seasons on NBC, with Mikkelsen starring in the titular role. Other notable projects Fuller has worked on in his decades-spanning career includeHeroes, American Gods, and Star Trek series such asStar Trek: Deep Space NineandStar Trek: Voyager.In addition, he co-createdStar Trek: DiscoveryandStar Trek: Short Treks.

He initially turned his attention to helming a feature-length film in 2021 when he boardeda new adaptation of the 1983 Stephen King novelChristine, but the project was subsequently stalled, prompting Fuller to shift his focus toDust Bunny,which is billed as a “wicked fairy tale.” His previous work is often recognized for its distinctive visual style, dramatic flair, memorable characters, and dark yet whimsical themes, so it will be interesting to see how those trademark qualities translate to the big screen for his first feature-length film.
