The Little Mermaid (Sept. 6)

The live-action remake of the beloved animated classicThe Little Mermaidwill be making a big splash on Sept. 6 with its arrival to streamers just a few months after its theatrical release. The remake was considered controversial upon release, if slightly, mostly for ridiculous reasons like the skin color changes of the mermaid herself. However, it received a lukewarm response overall, with middling audience reception and critic reviews, floundering a bit in its time between theaters and streaming.

With the same plot beats as its predecessor, the musical fantasy follows the youngest of the mermaid king’s daughters, Ariel (Halle Bailey), the beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Longing to explore the world beyond the sea, she makes a deal with the sea witch Ursala (Melissa McCarty) to live on land.

bin laden’s hard drive

So Ariel loses her voice but finds her tail replaced with legs and makes it to the surface. On dry land, she meets the prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) and falls in love. But Ursala has plans for taking over the underwater kingdom from Ariel’s father, and she must find a way to save both worlds before it’s too late.

There’s some news that Disney hasalready approved a sequel, so this might not be the last time we go under the sea.
