John Wickfranchise creator Derek Kolstad has been tapped to write for the upcomingFalcon and Winter Soldierseries. The Disney+ series is on the way and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige will more than likely give us some more information about it and the other shows next weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. The show stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson, aka Falcon and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, respectively. It is unclear if Falcon will be taking the Captain America role in the show.

Details about theFalcon and Winter Soldierseries are being kept under wraps, but bringing Derek Kolstad on board is pretty big. It just goes to show how seriously Marvel Studios is treating their newstreaming shows, along with bringing back the original cast members to reprise their roles. Kevin Feige has said that the new shows will have a big impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and vice versa, which has fans really excited to see what they are able to come up with. Kari Skogland is set to direct.

One of the bigger bonuses to telling these stories on the small screen is that Marvel Studios can take more of a comic book approach and really flesh things out. All of the new shows are limited, and it is believed there will be around 6 hours in length, but the amount of episodes has not been revealed at this time. In addition to theFalcon and Winter Soldiershow,WandaVisionand aLokishow are all in the works.Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsenexpects production to begin in the fall on her series.

There are also rumors going around about Jeremy Renner taking on aHawkeye seriesfor the new streaming platform, but that has yet to be announced. When asked about the show, Renner played coy. MCU fans would more than likely be pretty happy to see Renner get his own series on Disney+, and like the rest of the shows, Kevin Feige should be filling us in on what the future will hold for these new stories from some of the most beloved MCU characters. While not a lot is clear about them, they will undoubtedly be a very big deal when they are released.

Derek Kolstad is also writing a big screen adaptation of theJust Causevideo game. In addition to writing all of theJohn Wickmovies, he is also working onThe ContinentalTV series, which should be exciting for Wick fans. It’s going to be very interesting to see what Kolstad is able to pull off when working on theFalcon and Winter Soldierseries. For one thing, this could all get pretty dark really fast with a mixture of humor from the two main characters. Or, Kolstad may choose to go down a completely different route. The Wrapwas the first to announce the Derek Kolstad news.
