Found, which airs on NBC and streams onPeacock, started strong as a procedural drama with an intriguing twist. When she was a teenager, Gabi Mosley (Shanola Hampton) was kidnapped and held captive for over a year by a teacher she respected, Hugh “Sir” Evans (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). Later, as an adult, to help dealwith her trauma, Gabi starts a company to work on missing persons cases that are overlooked by the police. She assembles a misfit team of others who have dealt with similar traumas, each bringing their skills to the job and crediting Gabi with saving them at their most vulnerable point.

Each episode tackles a different case with the overarching story of Gabi versus Sir. Of course, there’s the small detail that she once tracked him down and kept him locked in a cage in her basement, using his warped mind to help solve cases. If that doesn’t sound crazy enough, the plot thickens, leaving gaping holes driving the show deeper into soapy territory.

The Biggest Plot Holes in ‘Found’

A major plot hole is that after it was discovered Gabi had kidnapped her own captor, she never faced punishment. Detective Mark Trent (Brett Dalton) wanted to have her arrested as part of his duty, but too many cracks formed in the case, and the arrest never occurred. Chief among them was Sir’s eventual capture and his refusal to press charges against her due to his twisted love and devotion to Gabi.

Another significant storyline is Margaret Reed’s (Kelli Williams) relentless quest to find her missing son. It’s unbelievable that she could spend every night at a train station for years and still function all day without sleep. Fans were willing to overlook this detail for the sake of the story. However, when Jamie (Parker Queenan) seemingly returns 13 years later, suspicions arise, and a quick DNA test seems impossible to get from her team, which appears to pull rabbits out of their hats at every turn.

Ranking the most popular show of the near 100-year-old broadcast network, NBC.

Dhan Rana (Karan Oberoi), Gabi’s military muscle with plenty of connections, isn’t able to get the DNA tested immediately, even in a few weeks. Several episodes pass, and he tells Gabi he has already called in the one favor he had, so this one is taking longer. It was clearly designed to drive the mystery of Jamie’s identity through several episodes. But after so much time has passed, it’s no longer believable.

Also, when it comes to Margaret’s family, while it’s understandable that she would lose sight of things while being laser-focused on finding her missing son, how she has and continues to completely disregard the fact that she has two other children is awful. It’s tough to sympathize with a character like that.

Overall, when it comes to the show, the very existence of the firm M&A is suspect. It’s supposedly bankrolled by Zeke Wallace’s (Arlen Escarpeta) trust fund, but how much money does he have to keep going for infinitum? All the members of the team live well, in nice houses or apartments. Yet they never seem to charge their clients any money. Is Zeke essentially paying them all salaries, and if so, how long can that last? While they are doing great things, surely Gabi can’t feel good about sucking away Zeke’s entire trust fund instead of charging clients a small sum for their work. Even if Dhan’s husband, Ethan (Lee Osorio), pays most of their bills and Lacey’s (Gabrielle Walsh) mother helps her with rent and law school, is Gabi really comfortable being paid by Zeke when he could use that money for his own future?

The Latest ‘Found’ Plot Holes With Margaret and Jamie

The big reveal in Season 2, Episode 19, “Missing While a Casualty,” is the identity of who abducted Jamie. After all these years, Margaret clues in, thanks to a not-so-subtle hint from Sir. It was Carrie (Suehyla El-Attar), a woman helping Margaret through her pain at the train station. This woman witnessed how Margaret treated Jamie that fateful day, like any frustrated and tired mom on a bad day would, and took Jamie.

Carrie used Jamie to replace the son she had, who was taken away from her by child services for mistreatment. Yet somehow, no one ever discovered that she had another child living with her, including the authorities. No neighbors, other family members, anyone. Where did Jamie go to school, and even if he was homeschooled, how did no one ever recognize him? Carrie seemingly lived close by Margaret this entire time, but there was never any suspicion around this woman who popped out of nowhere as a good citizen to help.

This is especially true of Margaret, who developed a keen sense of observation. What’s more, Margaret was quick to accuse her neighbors and friends, asseen in flashbacks, yet she was never even remotely suspicious of random strangers.

Since its impressive launch in 2020, the streaming service Peacock has crafted a dynamic and colorful catalog of exciting television shows and films.

Further,Margaret’s meeting with Carrie to confront her alone and not seeing that Carrie was dangerous made no sense. Margaret’s gift is being able to read people. Earlier in the same episode, she looks at Heather (Danielle Savre) and sees familial traits that convince her she is actually Lina, Sir’s biological half-sister. Yet, somehow, she couldn’t see the anger building up in Carrie, and that she was in danger.

As the situation progresses and Carrie hits Margaret over the head, Jamie arrives in the aftermath and sees his biological mother on the ground, his captive mother standing over her. He’s understandably confused, and it makes sense that he would still feel affection for and believe Carrie, seeing as she is the only mother figure he knows. Still, despite the confusion, the woman he now knowsis his mother— and whom he has grown to love — is lying on the floor bleeding, yet he hesitates far too long.

Further, the fact that Jamie returned and Margaret has seemingly definitive proof that he is indeed Jamie, yet has not contacted her daughters or ex-husband, is unbelievable. While she might want to give Jamie time to heal before rushing the family onto him, it isn’t all about them. Theyhave been grieving, too. Failing to inform his siblings and father that he’s back is cruel.

Things That Don’t Make Sense About Sir in ‘Found’

So much doesn’t make sense about Sir and his journey either. The fact that he knew the entire time who took Jamie from Margaret and never said anything, even though he knew seeing Margaret in pain hurt Gabi, made no sense. How did he know in the first place, yet no one else had figured it out? He also alludes to knowing something nefarious about Trent’s father, yet hasn’t elaborated on that either.

The situation with his brother has become confusing as well. Gabi eventually learned that Christian (Michael Cassidy) was telling the truth and was a good guy. But the question remains why he didn’t out his sister as Sir’s accomplice. If he was okay withbetraying his brother, knowing all the terrible things Sir had done, why wasn’t he okay doing the same with his sister, knowing she was working with him?

The idea of Lena shooting herself and pinning it on Christian seems far-fetched. She could have died. The whole concept of her stealing someone’s identity and working with her brother also makes little sense. Why did she come running when he contacted her after escaping Gabi’s basement?

Further, the power goes out in the prison riot scene, and all the doors open, suggesting they’re all electronically controlled. But it also suggests there’s no backup generator or failsafe to guard against this. If this were the case, the doors would unlock any time the prison had a minor outage or power surge, and prisoners would roam free.

Where The Cast Of Saved By The Bell Is Now

Saved by the Bell famously introduced audiences to the lovable trouble-maker Zack Morris and his dynamic pals at Bayside High School in the ‘90s.

Afterthe riot breaks out, Sir miraculously saves Gabi, and they take refuge in a cell. He uses a single piece of clothing to secure the door, suggesting dozens of big, burly prisoners wouldn’t be able to overpower him. When they head out to get the injured guard’s phone,Sir somehow takes on all these people at once, long enough for Gabi to make a phone call. The entire scene was completely unrealistic.

At the end of this episode, Sir is seen coming out of a town car in a black suit, freshly shaven and looking put together. The agent who opens the door lets him look upon his brother’s grave for a few seconds to pay his respects, then tells him that’s enough and to get back in. He’s still handcuffed, but Gabi and the others, who are there paying their respects to Christian as well, recognize that Sir is nowwith the FBI. He is still handcuffed, but it means he has information to trade. This might have to do with the details he keeps teasing that he knows about Trent’s father. Whatever it is, it would have to be big for the FBI to release a known kidnapper with a history of preying on and abducting young women.

Overall,Foundstarted as a gripping series with a unique premise. Even if some cases and situations have been unbelievable, fans can let that go. However, with stolen identities, hero prison scenes, and a lost then returned son with a predictable twist about his captor, the plot holes are becoming too big to ignore. The tone is shifting from dramatic to soapy. With that said, fans still love the show all the same. Plot holes or not, the show’s message of healing and caring for those who are often forgotten transcends it all.StreamFoundonPeacock.
