Ghostbustersfans will be able to experience the 1984 classic in a whole new way withGhostbustersLive In Concert, a screening/live concert series that will kick off this fall. Peter Bernstein, son of legendary composer Elmer Bernstein, will join local orchestras in each city as the guest conductor, as they perform Elmer Bernstein’s score live during the movie screening. Schirmer Theatrical is teaming with Columbia Pictures and Ivan Reitman’s Ghost Corps for this screening/concert series. Here’s what Ivan Reitman had to say aboutGhostbustersLive In Concert.

Ivan Reitman directed the originalGhostbustersfrom ascript by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, which took in $229.2 million domestically from a $30 million budget in 1984, which would be the equivalent of a $625 million movie today. The original spawned the 1989 sequelGhostbusters 2, along with animated TV shows and video games and the2016 reboot with an all-female cast. ThisGhostbustersevent will also includeRay Parker Jr.’s chart-topping theme song, but there has been no indication if he will be performing this iconic song in person or not. The theme song landed one of two Oscar nominations forGhostbusters, which was also nominated for visual effects. WhileGhostbustersLive In Concert has been confirmed for a fall debut, exact dates and venues have yet to be announced. There is no indication yet if any cast members plan on making appearances throughout this tour as well. Here’s what Schirmer Theatrical president Robert Thompson had to say in his statement.

This news comes just days after Sony and Ghost Corps announced a new augmented reality mobile game known asGhostbusters Worldwill be released later this year.
