Glen Powellseems to be everywhere these days, whether it’s Netflix-exclusive films likeHit-Manor starring opposite Sydney Sweeney in rom-coms likeAnyone But You.Now Powell is conquering a new avenue in voice acting. In a trailer showcasing the upcomingFamily GuyHalloween special, streaming exclusively on Hulu, we get our first glimpse atwho Powell is voicing, and it appears to be in line with many characters he’s played in the past.

The special looks jam-packed with references to famous movies and pop culture moments, evidenced by the trailer beginning in a knock-off of a Spirit Halloween store, a common target for comedy shows as of late. Powell’s character doesn’t show up until later in the trailer, and all we get of him is ribbing Joe for coming in second place in a pumpkin contest.

The Halloween special celebrates 25 years ofFamily Guy, andit debuts on Hulu on October 14. While Powell is a key selling point for the special, he’s not the only thing to look forward to for long-timeFamily Guyfans. Some of the side characters audiences have come to know and love over the years get their chance to shine, and even some who haven’t said much of anything get their moments.

Expect More Surprises in Family Guy’s Halloween special

In aninterview with Screen Rant,Family Guysshowrunners Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin explained Stewie’s bear Rupert is getting his first storyline. Sulkin told Screen Rant there’s a “Single White Female element where Rupert is telling Stewie ‘if I can’t have you, no one can,” This is a reference to the 1992 film of the same name where a woman is obsessed with her roommate to the point where she attempts to kill her and take over her life.

British classical actor Derek Jacobi voices Rupert, and while that might seem like an odd choice for a stuffed bear’s voice, the showrunners had it planned all along. Appel said, “the idea of taking such a classically trained actor who comes by his accent naturally felt right for Stewie’s partner.”

As for how Powell ended up getting the role, the answer seems simple enough. Appel explained the character he’s playing is cocky, and told Screen Rant “who better to play a cocky a**hole,” so it all came together. It’s not likely we’ll be seeing much of Powell, if any at all, after this special.

Family Guy’s Future Addressed by Fox President Following Midseason Move

Like this one, theFamily GuyChristmas episode will be another Hulu exclusive. The show has had plenty ofgood Christmas episodesin the past, so the special should end up being a good one as well.
