It has been announced that Sepideh Moafi (The L Word: Generation Q,Blackbird) has joined the second season ofThe Pitt. She will have a regular series role as an attending physician in emergency medicine.Her character’s name has not been revealed, and it’s not clear if she will have some kind of connection to a returning cast member. Season 2 will take place10 months after the events of the first season. The episodes will be set during the Fourth of July weekend, which will surely bring another hectic shift for television’s favorite medical emergency staff.

The PittstarTaylor Dearden, who plays fan-favorite Dr. King, recently sat down with Collider to discuss the highly-anticipated second season. And while she did not get into the gritty details of the plot, she revealed some behind-the-scenes news that will excite fans of the medical drama. Noah Wyle, who stars as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, will return to write several more episodes of The Pitt. However, he will also step behind the camera as the director for one episode. If you’re wondering how Wyle could possibly handle all of those responsibilities at once, Dearden is also unsure.
“It’s asking questions. It’s asking a lot more questions. Noah, I heard Noah is writing four of the episodes and directing one this season, which I just cannot understand how you can do that many things.”

Wyle is no stranger to prestige medical dramas. He was nominated for five Primetime Emmys during his run as John Carter inER, which is widely regarded as the spiritual predecessor toThe Pitt.
