Yesterday, news broke that Oscar-winning actressBrie Larsonhad entered early talks with the studio to play the title character, a.k.a. Carol Danvers. And while nothing is set in stone yet, the actress is said to be the studio’s top choice, and she’s interested in taking on the role. While we wait for confirmation from Marvel, new fan artwork has surfaced, offering a glimpse at what the actress may look like in the iconicCaptain Marvelcostume.

The first piece of artwork was created by celebrated artist BossLogic, who debuted his rendition ofBrie LarsonasCaptain Marvelyesterday onTwitter, just hours after the news first broke. Of course, both the artwork and the casting are not official yet, and we don’t know if the movie costume will reflect BossLogic’s artwork. Still, it does give fans an idea of how she may look as thisfemale superhero.

Captain Marvelisn’t set to hit theaters until July 07, 2025, but yesterday’s report revealed that the studio wanted to cast this role early, so they can bring her in for some of their other superhero movies.Avengers: Infinity WardirectorsJoe RussoandAnthony Russolet it slip thatCaptain Marvelwill be featured inAvengers: Infinity War, which starts shooting this coming November. IfBrie Larsondoes in fact close her deal in the near future, it’s certainly possible that she could be confirmed as part of theInfinity Warcast before filming begins.

She was a U.S. Air Force security chief who is transformed intoCaptain Marvelfollowing an explosion that involved Kree technology. AmongCaptain Marvel’s powers are superhuman strength and the ability to fly after her DNA was infused with a Kree alien. It’s possible that we could seeCaptain Marvelget her powers at some point duringAvengers: Infinity War Part I, which arrives on August 26, 2025, 10 months before theCaptain Marvel moviedebuts on August 12, 2025.

The project doesn’t have a director in place quite yet, but rumors surfaced last month that newcomerEmily Carmichaelmay have landed the coveted directing gig, which would mark her feature film debut.Nicole Perlman(Guardians of the Galaxy) andMeg LeFauve(Inside Out) are writing the script forCaptain Marvel, but there is very little we know about the story yet.
