Home Aloneis a movie that continues to delight fans every year as the festive season gets underway. Although the idea of a revival of the original duology of films starringMacaulay Culkinas Kevin McCallister is very unlikely, a new fan trailer for a legacy sequel has seen fans getting in the mood for more comical violence from the franchise.

TheHome Alonefranchise began in 1990 with an introduction to the McCallister family and their penchant for forgetting about their son Kevin when going away on vacation. The film featured some truly brutal moments, aspetty criminals Harry and Marv, played completely straight by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern respectively, were taught a lesson when attempting to rob the McCallister house while Kevin was left home alone.

In response to the video, the comments section filled up with fans praising the hypothetical trailer, including @airbendingeagle2358 saying, “I don’t care if this is only a parody, I totally could see this being an actual movie.” @andrekusumayadi4820 noted, “I haven’t gone to the cinema in a long time, but if they make this parody into a real movie, I’ll grab my money and go to the cinema in an instant. I swear.” Meanwhile @missbrownskinlady23 commented, “Whoever did this parody is a genius, this would’ve been incredible if this ever happen.”

Home Alone Stars Reunited

Recently, Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O’Hara reunited as Culkin received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month. During the ceremony, O’Hara spoke about her costar, crediting him asthe reason the movie continues to be successafter three decades. She said:

“Home Alone was, is, and always will be a global…a beloved global sensation. The reason it’s that, the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin”

The fact that none ofHome Alone’s subsequent sequels without Culkin have gained any traction with audiences seems to back up O’Hara’s statement, and there are many families that would certainly agree with the sentiment that the original movie is a film that stands alongside classic festive movies that continue to deliver year after year.
