Adamantiumis the strongest metal in the Marvel universe. Though there has been much debate among Marvel fans, it is generally accepted that adamantium is stronger than vibranium. It has been said that the only thing that can cut through vibranium ismore vibranium, but, chemically, adamantium is the denser metal, meaning that under the right circumstances, adamantium would cut through vibranium. So far in the MCU, adamantium hasn’t been introduced, even though we all know Wolverine’s skeleton is coated in it. That means that very soon, some new super-metal is going to make its way into the MCU.
Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverintroduced the idea of nations competing forWakanda’s vibranium. And Val, as head of the MCU’s CIA is more than determined to get her hands on some. Wakanda successfully kept its vibranium safe, but all those countries may get another bite at the apple with adamantium. Fans think it may come from the dead celestial we saw at the end ofEternalsor possibly an undiscovered meteorite. Others believe it’s already in the MCU, sinceShe-Hulkgave that tiny wink toward Wolverine existing. Whatever happens, adamantium will appear in the MCU very soon. It’s just a matter of how.

Eternals Might Have Made Adamantium
At the end ofEternals, Sersi (Gemma Chan) saved the planet from total destruction by turning the emerging celestial Tiamut from a living, galactic being into solid marble. Now that this gargantuan, planet-sized giant has been bricked inside the Indian Ocean, some fans have started to think of how Marvel could use it to develop its story.
Twitter user Daniel Ritchman recently posted an unconfirmed report that stated this dead celestial would be the source for Earth’s supply of adamantium, and that later it would become the island of Genosha, a sovereign nation for the X-Men. Though Ritchman is a Hollywood insider, his information should be taken with a grain of salt as no one working in the MCU has confirmed this rumor yet.

That being said, the theory that humanity will begin mining adamantium from the corpse of a celestial is pretty reasonable. InThe Guardians of the Galaxy, a lot ofalien speciesmined tons of resources from the severed celestial head Knowhere, and powerful metals like this do come from strange realms beyond Earth. It’s quite possible that when investigating this deceased celestial, the US government, specifically Val and the CIA, could find some of these new materials.
The biggest counterpoint to the theory is that Sersi did turn the giant being into marble, so some fans do believe that this thing sticking out of the ocean is just marble all the way down now. It is possible however, that Sersi did not turn all of the celestial to stone. She might have made the most she could with her powers, but due to the extreme stress it put on her, it’s possible there still might be some celestial biology left inside the marble casing. If there is adamantium left inside the celestial, then world governments would rush to seize control of it. They would immediately begin using it as a substitute to vibranium and try to begin building weapons with it. Weapons like Weapon X, the secret government project that created Wolverine, Deadpool, and others.
Adamantium is Already in the MCU
It’s possible that adamantium has already been introduced in the MCU right under our noses.InShe-Hulk, super fans freaked out when they saw a tiny sidebar article on Jen Walters’ computer that read, “Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl.” It certainly sounds like Wolverine. This might mean that adamantium already exists in the MCU, and that the Weapon X project is already underway. But, given the strange nature of superhero storytelling, this little Easter egg could also turn out to be a reference toDeadpool 3.

Anything can happen in the Marvel universe, so some fans have theorized that this little Wolverine nugget inShe-Hulkactually refers to what will become the time-traveling Hugh Jackman Wolverine that might appear inDeadpool 3.There are a lot of time-travel theories about theDeadpoolthreequel ever since Wade Wilson finishedDeadpool 2with Cable’s time traveling watch in his hand. Which means Deadpool and Wolverine might team up to go to the past or future, and end up making the news around the same time She-Hulk is looking at her computer for new jobs.
But if this tiny article is true and there is an actual Wolverine running around somewhere in the MCU, then somewhere, the US government already has a supply of adamantium and is using it to turn mutants into soldiers. It’s possible that this secret supply of the metal may have already been harvested from Tiamut, or that it could have come from space similarly to how the vibranium did. But If the MCU wants toadd the X-Mento their universe, they’ll have to explain where the adamantium has come from.
