Lionsgate has announced that it will bring back its 2012 blockbusterThe Hunger Games, but not in a theatrical setting. The studio has announced a global concert series dubbed The Hunger Games In Concert, wherecomposer James Newton Howardwill perform the score live, accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra, while the firstHunger Gamesfilm screens in HD during this concert setting. Here’s what Lionsgate Senior Vice President of Global Live and Location Based Entertainment Jenefer Brown had to say in a statement, revealing this tour will coincide with the 10th Anniversary ofThe Hunger Gamesbook by Suzanne Collins.

James was an integral part of the success ofThe Hunger Games, scoring all four films, and bringing his renowned score to audiences is the perfect way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of thisglobal phenomenon.The Hunger Gamesin Concert tour will add a fresh dimension to the world of this iconic property for new and existing fans everywhere.”
This live concert event comes after Lionsgate successfully launched a similar world tour,La La LandIn Concert, which has had over 100 performances in 25 countries to date. The first four dates of this global tour were announced today, in Manchester, Liverpool, London and Birmingham in the U.K., with tickets going on sale today through Ticketmaster. The tour will kick off Thursday, July 12 in Manchester U.K. at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall, and continues Friday, July 13 at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Saturday, July 14 at the London Royal Festival Hall and Sunday, July 15 at the Birmingham Symphony Hall. There have been more than 80 million books in the trilogy sold around the world, which have been translated into over 50 languages. The franchise has also spawned a hit mobile game and theme park attractions in the Lionsgate Zone of Dubai’s Motiongate theme park. Ever since the movie franchise came to a close in 2015, there have been rumors of new spin-offs or sequels, but nothing has been confirmed byLionsgateat this time.
