John Mulaneyis returning to the live show arena for Netflix’s upcoming live talk show series. The Chicago native’s career has expanded wildly after his start as a stand-up comedian and writer forSaturday Night Live. Since his beginnings on live television in 2008, the comedian has gone on to produce and star in multiple Netflix comedy specials, including the award-winningKid Gorgeousin 2018 andBaby Jin 2023. The comedy powerhouse didn’t leave the live stage completely, returning with actor Nick Kroll to co-create and star inOh, Hello on Broadwayin 2016.

Mulaney isn’t a stranger to hosting a talk show, either. Earlier this year, he created and hosted Netflix’sEverybody’sIn L.A., a talk show that took advantage of the congregation of comedians in L.A. for the Netflix is a Joke festival. The actor originally wanted to make a live variety show playing off the talents of popular comedians, and isabout to make his dream come true with a new live variety talk show on Netflix.
