It looks like Keanu Reeves' Duke Kaboom character fromToy Story 4may have been introduced inIncredibles 2. Pixar has been known for introducing new characters through Easter Eggs in the past. Nemo fromFinding NemoinMonsters, Inc., Lots-o'-Huggin'-Bear fromToy Story 3inUp, and Doc Hudson fromCarswas spotted in theThe Incredibles. Reeves has confirmed that he is in the upcomingToy Story 4, but we have yet to see what his Duke Kaboom character looks like.

In a shot from last summer’sIncredibles 2, we see Jack-Jack Parr in his crib. Along with Jack-Jack, there are only a few blocks and one action figure, which many believe to beKeanu Reevesas Duke Kaboom fromToy Story 4. There is a bit of detective work that was done to make this correlation, which includes looking at the blocks. Out of the four that are laid out, you can clearly see the letters “W,” “D,” and “Y,” which could refer to Woody from theToy Storyfranchise. However, there is also the letter “C” visible and that doesn’t really fit in at all, with being a Woody Easter egg or referecning Duke Kaboom, so it’s just random.

This is quite a stretch, but as mentioned previously, Pixar has a reputation for introducing characters in a sneaky fashion.Toy Story 4has been in development for years, so theDuke Kaboomcharacter may have been drawn up and designed years ago, even before Keanu Reeves was attached to the role. Some have theorized that Duke Kaboom could even be a villain. This would be some pretty amazing foreshadowing if it ends up being true. With that said, there is further evidence that this could really be Duke Kaboom inIncredibles 2.

Before the release ofIncredibles 2last summer, set supervisor Nathan Fariss revealed in an interview that aToy Story 4Easter Egg is included inIncredibles 2. This is pretty much the glue that is holding this Duke Kaboom theory together at this point. But, Fariss said that it might be tough to spot. He had this to say.

“It probably won’t make any sense untilToy Story 4comes out. I didn’t even know anything about it before. You might see it and go, What the heck is that? And then move on.”

Keanu Reeves' Duke Kaboom reportedly hails from a place where “discontinued toys are sent,” and he has something to withBo Peep’s storyinToy Story 4. Apparently, Bo seeks out Kaboom’s help in retrieving her sheep. Reeves says that he was excited to take on the part, though he couldn’t really divulge any specific information about it. The actor said that Pixar pitched the idea to him and when he agreed, they let him come into the studio and improvise some lines for the character. While we wait forPixarsequelToy Story 4to hit theaters this summer, you can check out some of the photos of Jack-Jack’s crib fromIncredibles 2below.
