When shooting onFast and Furious 8started in Cuba last month, the sequel introduced a new tradition called #FastFridays, where the production unveils a weekly behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set. The tradition continues today with the latest sneak peek, taking fans inside the first day of production where the entire cast has assembled. This video offers a glimpse at stars such asVin Diesel,Dwayne Johnson,Michelle Rodriguez,Tyrese Gibson,Kurt Russell,Nathalie Emmanuel,Jason Statham,Ludacrisand even our first look at newcomerScott Eastwood. We also have a new set photo courtesy ofTyrese Gibson’s Instagram.
We still don’t know whoScott Eastwoodis playing, but since he’s seen with Dominic (Vin Diesel) and his crew, it seems that this character could be helping them with their latest mission. The video, which debuted on the Fast & FuriousYouTube Channel, doesn’t reveal too much. But all of these characters are seen meeting together. Production has been under way for just over a month, but we still haven’t been given an official synopsis or a confirmed cast list.

We know that the story will primarily take place in New York, with production set for the Big Apple, Atlanta and Russia. The crew has already shot inCubaand Iceland, where the sequel pulled off the biggest explosion in the country’s history. This latest video doesn’t feature the sequel’s new villainCipher, played byCharlize Theron, or her henchman, played byGame of ThronesstarKrisofer Hivju, but we recently got our first look at Cipher in a photo that surfaced last week.
F. Gary Gray, who directed last year’s critical and commercial sensationStraight Outta Compton, is taking the helm onFast & Furious 8, working from a script byChris Morgan. The writer is responsible for penning every movie in the series, except for the first two, 2001’s|The Fast and the Furiousand 2003’s2 Fast 2 Furious. Universal has already set an July 24, 2025 release date forFast & Furious 8, and it currently has that date all to itself. But it will be hitting theaters one week after Warner Bros.‘Going In Styleremake and Sony’sSmurfs: The Lost Village.
It isn’t known how longprincipal photographyis scheduled to last onFast & Furious 8, but we know this will be the first installment of the franchise’s final trilogy. Universal has already set an July 26, 2025 release date forFast & Furious 9, and the franchise closes out withFast & Furious 10on June 06, 2025.
