Bob Iger has revealed that aLokiTV series starring Tom Hiddleston is in development. Iger also announced that the name of theDisneystreaming service is Disney+, which really doesn’t come as that big of a surprise. However, theLokiseries news is pretty big. Iger did not comment on the Scarlet Witch series, which is also reportedly in development at this time. Both Marvel shows were announced back in September, and fans have been trying to figure out how they will go forward after the events ofInfinity War, since both characters didn’t survive.

When news of theLokiseries was first announced, it wasn’t clear ifTom Hiddlestonwould be involved. Now that it’s confirmed, it’s time to try and figure out when the show will take place within the MCU. Loki had a pretty bad meeting with Thanos at the beginning ofInfinity War, and he is believed to be dead. With that being said, we’ve seen set photos forAvengers 4that include Hiddleston, so he might be alive after all, or in an alternate universe.

There have been plenty of fan theories surrounding Loki’s survival sinceInfinity Warhit theaters. Even Hiddleston is blown away by the devotion of hardcoreMarvel Cinematic Universefans who approach him on a daily basis about the character’s survival. The actor admits that he has heard some “amazing” theories about Loki’s survival, but he cannot comment on any of it until afterAvengers 4hits theaters next year. Hiddleston, as well as the rest of the MCU cast, have been doing an amazing job keeping all of the secrets about the upcoming movie under wraps, which has been frustrating for some fans who are looking for spoilers.

The new Disneystreamingservice will include past Disney content as well as future content that is currently in development or filming. Jon Favreau’s live-actionStar Warsseries,The Mandalorian, is currently filming, and it has just been announced that Diego Luna will star in aRogue Oneprequel, which will also air on the upcoming streaming platform. Additionally, a new season ofStar Wars: The Clone Warsis being developed. The company is also planningThe High School Musicalreboot and a new original animated series based on Pixar’sMonsters Inc.

Bob Iger didn’t mention the Scarlet Witch series starringElizabeth Olsen, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not still happening. There have been additional announcements that Falcon and Winter Soldier are getting their own limited series as well. It’s definitely a fun time to be an MCU fan, with all of these new projects starting to move forward, along with the upcoming Phase 4 of the MCU, which is still a huge mystery at this point in time. The Disney streaming platform news was first reported byCNBC, and further details will be revealed in the coming months.
