As with many holiday gatherings, the Coopers' doesn’t quite go according to plan.
When four generations of the Cooper clan come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday. The trailer reveals that this large family only gets together once per year over theChristmasholiday, giving us insight into their wildly different lives.Diane Keaton’s Charlotte Cooper just wants their family to have wonderful Christmas memories, while her children want much different things.

Olivia Wilde’s Eleanor has been having trouble finding the right guy, so she coerces a soldier (Jake Lacy) to pretend to be her boyfriend for just one night. Her sister Emma (Marisa Tomei) is searching for the perfect gift, although she seems to have issues with shoplifting. Their brother Hank (Ed Helms) is a single dad, who is trying to get his daughter to break a hilariously inappropriate habit.
The supporting cast is rounded out byAnthony Mackie,Alan Arkin,Alex Borstein,June Squibb,Jon TenneyandTimothée Chalamet.Love the Coopershits theaters on November 13, going up against Warner Bros.‘The 33, Universal’sBy the Seaand Paramount’sRingsat the box office. Thisfamily comedywill provide some nice counter-programming for a very diverse weekend in theaters.
