The Wolf of Wall StreetandOnce Upon a Time in Hollywoodactress Margot Robbie has been gathering up some Oscar-talk for her upcoming role in director Jay Roach’s Fox News flickBombshellco-starring Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson. Evidently, Robbie is so good in the film that there is already talk of her snagging her second Oscar nomination following the one she received for director Craig Gillespie’s biography-comedyI, Tonya. But that’s not what we’re here to talk about today. Today we want to pass along some comments Robbie made regarding writer-director James Gunn’s upcomingThe Suicide Squadfeaturing Robbie’s return as Harley Quinn.
Margot Robbieis currently in Atlanta shootingThe Suicide Squad, and during a recent interview, someone mentioned herSuicide Squadco-star Joel Kinnaman’s recent comments about how funny he thinks Gunn’s new movie is going to be. And Robbie agreed, saying this.
“[Joel Kinnaman is] right…You’re going to be laughing a lot. It’s going to be good is all I can say for now. It’s going to be very, very good.”
While Robbie doesn’t say much about James Gunn’sThe Suicide Squad, maybe that’s just because she is out and about trying to talk about her work other than playing theQueen of Crime. But all of this is kind of a moot point anyhow as we all know good and well by this point in time that if a film iswritten and directed by James Gunn, it is going to be funny. That kind of goes without saying by now. But it’s still good to hear, don’t get me wrong.
James Gunn’sThe Suicide Squadis all set to feature Robbie’s return as Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn, along with Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Jai Courtney as George “Digger” Harkness aka Captain Boomerang. New cast members include Idris Elba as Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot, David Dastmalchian as Abner Krill aka Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, and Steve Agee as the voice of King Shark. They will be joined by the likes of John Cena, Storm Reid, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, Taika Waititi, Joaquín Cosío, Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Tinashe Kajese, Julio Ruiz, and Jennifer Holland in undisclosed roles.
