Filming a series or movie production always seems like nothing but fun on the outside looking in. Whilebeing a part of the castand crew is a fun experience in itself, it is still a job, and problems arise just like it would at a regular place of work. Sometimes,productions are suspendedindefinitely as a result of too many issues, while others take a brief break to get things back on track.Matthew McConaugheyandWoody Harrelson’s Apple TV+ series is the latest project to halt filming while things get sorted out. It seems that the untitled show, which stars and is executive produced by the actors and Skydance Television, sent its cast home due to creative differences.
According toDeadline, sources told the publication that production in Austin, Texas, was paused late last week, and the cast, which includesHolland Taylor (Legally Blonde, Two and a Half Men), Natalie Martinez (Bad Monkey,End of Watch) and Brittany Ishibashi (Marvel’s Runaways,Political Animals), were sent home. This comes as showrunner David West Read departed the project, although eight of its ten episodes have already been shot. Lee Eisenberg, veteran showrunner who co-created the 2023 hit Amazon Freevee seriesJury Duty, is supposedly in negotiations to join McConaughey and Harrelson’s untitled comedy for the final two episodes and possible reshoots. Eisenberg developed and wrote a few episodes ofApple TV’sLessons in Chemistry, a historical drama miniseries based on a novel of the same name. It also received two Golden Globe nominations.

A mini ‘True Detective’ reunion has been made to bring more productions to Texas.
Deadlinealso reported that the change is due to different views over how the show should end. The series is supposedly loosely based on the actors' real-life longtime friendship. It follows their heartfelt story as their friendship is tested as a result of their families living together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.Alongside McConaughey, Harrelson, Taylor, Martinez, and Ishibashi, the cast also includes Oona Yaffe, Highdee Kuan, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, and Noah Carganilla as series regulars. There has been no date for returning to production, and AppleTV+ and Skydance TV have declined to comment.

According toCNN Entertainment, during an interview with Kelly Ripa in 2023,McConaughey talked abouthis bromance with the fellow actor.
