As the streaming wars rage on,Maxis coming in hot in 2025, as the platform has just revealed its absolutely packed line-up of new and returning shows. Max has always had a leg-up in thebattle for the best “content,“thanks to the almost guaranteed stamp of success that is the HBO brand. 2024 has already been a big year for the streamer, thanks toHouse of the DragonSeason 2, and the recently concludedThe Penguin(both of which simultaneously streamed on Max and aired on HBO). But, thanks to a new featurette, 2025 could be Max’s strongest year yet.
The new “Coming to Max in 2025” trailer unveiled over a dozen shows that will be released in the new year, and revealed some of the best footage yet of some returning favorites. The two big shows for Max in 2025 are undoubtedlyThe Last of UsSeason 2, andThe White LotusSeason 3.The Last of Usfans got a sneak peekat the new season earlier in the year, butThe White Lotusresort-goers have been desperately awaiting room service to deliver a trailer for Season 3. While a full trailer is still in the works,we now have our best look yet at the star-studded cast of the Thailand-set Season 3— which stars Walton Goggins, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, and Jason Isaacs.
Walton Goggins is going to have a major 2025, as the featurette alsoteased the return ofThe Righteous Gemstones.The now Emmy-winningHacksalso debuted new footage from its fourth season.And, if Max hasn’t already had enough success in the crime/thriller genres, its bringing MCU andZodiacstar,Mark Ruffalo, into the fold for a new series, titledTask.Ruffalo plays FBI Agent Tom, who is tasked with investigating a run of drug-house robberies. Lastly, DC fans got theirbest look yet atPeacemaker’s second season,which will be set within the new DC Universe.
Max Still Has Some Big Shows for 2024!
While the featurette mainly looked ahead to the new year, it also reminded audiences of the phenomenal shows that are still to come this side of Christmas. Taking audiences back to outer space (albeit without Denis Villeneuve),Dune Prophecyfollows the founding of the Bene Gesserit order,10,000 years before the events ofDune.Fans have high hopes and expectations for the series after Villeneuve’s phenomenal, Oscar-winning work onDuneandDune: Part Two.Dune: Prophecypremieres on November 17 on Max.
Every TV Series Coming to Max in November 2024
November is a huge month for Max, with several highly anticipated series heading to the streaming service.
Max will also be ground zero for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe. While 2025 will bring fans their first doses of live-action shows and movies,the DCU officially getsstarted withCreature Commandos.The new animated series features the undead and paranormal version of the Suicide Squad, led by Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis).Creature Commandospremieres on December 5 on Max.
