Now, speaking withET, Fox revealed that, should the right role be put in front of him, he would certainly consider a return to screens.

“If someone offers me a part and I do it and I have a good time, great. I mean, the documentary was a big thrill.”

The documentary he mentions isStill: A Michael J. Fox Movie, which was released on Apple TV+ last year and explores the life and career of Fox as well as his struggle with Parkinson’s disease. The project received seven nominations at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards and won the award for Best Documentary Film from the National Board of Review.

Fox revealed his diagnosis of Parkinson’s way back in 1991, and while he has continued acting throughout, he decided tostep away from the industry in 2020after struggling to remember his lines. The actor has sincelikened his experience to a scenein director Quentin Tarantino’sOnce Upon a Time… in Hollywood, which sees Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Rick Dalton, retreating to his trailer when he too cannot remember his lines.

“I thought of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. There’s a scene where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character can’t remember his lines anymore. He goes back to his dressing room and he’s screaming at himself in the mirror. Just freaking insane. I had this moment where I was looking in the mirror and thought, ‘I cannot remember it anymore.'”

Continuing, Fox also recalled forgetting his lines when filming the political thriller seriesDesignated Survivor, with the actor revealing his surprisingly calm reaction…

“But what [was] really refreshing was I didn’t panic. I didn’t freak out. I just went, ‘Well, that’s that. Moving on. A key element of this process is memorizing lines, and I can’t do it.’”
