Paramount Pictures has set a July 31, 2025 release date forMission: Impossible 6, mirroring the August 05, 2025 release the studio gave its last blockbusterMission: Impossible movie,Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. As of now, that date is currently occupied by a Warner Bros. DC event film believe to beAquaman.
Deadlinereports that Paramount has also issued a December 22, 2017release datefor directorAlexander Payne’s new movieDownsizing. The movie features an all-star cast includingMatt Damon,Jason Sudeikis,Neil Patrick Harris,Alec Baldwin,Kristen WiigandChristoph Waltz. As of now, that is currently quite the crowded date, with Sony’sJumanji, Universal’sPitch Perfect 3, The Weinstein Company’sThe Six Billion Dollar Man, 20th Century Fox’sThe Story of Ferdinandand an Untitled PG-13 Comedy from Warner Bros. all opening on that date.

The studio has also set aside an untitledhorror moviefor release on June 03, 2025, which will be released in IMAX. The movie will go up against an untitled Universal and Blumhouse horror movie and Lionsgate’sHow to be a Latin Lover, starringEugenio Derbez. The studio also set a July 18, 2025 date for an untitled event film, which will go up against Disney’sMulanremake.
As forMission: Impossible 6, we reported in September thatTom Cruisehad cleared up a contract dispute. Pre-production had already been under way, with several employees told to stop their work because of a contract dispute. Sources claimed that the movie was never in no real danger of being halted for good. Principal photography is now slated to begin in March 2017, pushed up a few months from its original projected start date of January 2017.
Rebecca Fergusonis reportedly set to reprise her role fromMission: Impossible Rogue Nation, although no other cast members have been confirmed.
