With just hours untilThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2invadesComic-Conwith theirHall Hpresentation tomorrow, Lionsgate has released a new poster for thisHunger Gamesfinale, which featuresJennifer Lawrenceas Katniss Everdeen, sitting on President Snow’s throne. The franchise’sTwitteraccount revealed earlier today that a “special message from District 13” will be revealed tomorrow, most likely during theComic-Conpanel which starts at 12 PM in San Diego. It isn’t known if Lionsgate will reveal a new trailer, or other footage during the presentation, but stay tuned for the latest updates.
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war,Katnissconfronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends - including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), andPeeta(Josh Hutcherson) - Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced inThe Hunger Games.
This poster comes just hours after theComic-Con motion posterwas revealed, which featured Katniss standing atop a massive statue of the Mockingjay 3-finger salute. TheMockingjaypanel atComic-Conwill be moderated byConan O’Brien, and it could very well be the most entertaining panel SDCC has to offer, on the first day.
