While many criticize Netflix for producing countless by-the-numbers dramas, mindless reality shows, and overly commercialized movies, occasionally, the streamer takes a jump into the unknown with something more obscure and arthouse. In the case ofLove, Death & Robots, it has proven to be a worthwhile risk as the sci-fi anthology series is one of the streamer’s most acclaimed shows. The series, created by Tim Miller, only released its fourth season on May 15, and the series is once again a resounding success.
Love, Death & Robotsis currently the 7th most popular show on Netflix this week.American Manhunt: Osama bin Ladencontinues to dominate the top spot, withSecrets We Keepcoming in second. But for an obscure science-fiction animated anthology to compete so strongly against more commercial shows is incredible. Season 4 also continues the show’s trend of receiving very strong reviews. The series holds an overall Rotten Tomatoes score of 89%, which Season 4 has drastically bolstered by earning a perfect 100% score on RT.MovieWeb’s own Julian Romanrated the new season a 4/5, writing:

“The Emmy-winning series remains true to form with stunning creativity, fantastic black humor and genuine surprises that illustrate the series' evolution. Not every segment is outstanding, but there are no stinkers in the bunch.”

What’s Included In ‘Love, Death & Robots’ Season 4
Part of what fans love aboutLove, Death & Robotsis that each season is drastically different. Past seasons included stories about Soviet soldiers fighting against aliens, an artist inspired by a pool-cleaning robot, a killer crab aboard a sailing ship, and three robots touring a post-apocalyptic Earth.Season 4 ups the weirdness, the laughs, and includes a very unexpected musical cameo.
When viewers switched on the first episode ofLove, Death & RobotsSeason 4, they definitely weren’t expecting the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The first episode is a recreation of a live RHCP concert achieved through marionette puppets. But if you thought that was weird, this new season only gets more bizarre. Cats begin fighting back against humans, tiny aliens invade a tiny Earth, and we get a depressing documentary where household appliances are interviewed about their daily lives.

Season 4 ofLove, Death & Robotsis also the season of sequels. The anthology series often shied away from repeating itself, with the exception of the iconic three robots. But in Season 4, the tiny model Earth makes a surprise return, with devastating consequences for our solar system.
The series hasn’t been given a Season 5 update yet. However, given the great reviews and the strong fan turnout for the fourth season, the future ofLove, Death & Robotson Netflix seems almost certain.
