After a fan shared two set photos from James Gunn’s upcomingSuperman, DC fans quickly spotted two new reveals ofDavid Corenswet’s titular hero in the pictures.Supermanis currently in production, and will kick-start the new DC Universe, following the incredibly mixed reception to the previous DC Extended Universe. So far, only one official image of Corenswet’s Superman has been revealed, but the set photos have given fans a glimpse of the Man of Steel in action.
X/Twitter user@brian_lumleyshared the pictures from the film’s set in Cleveland. The photos showed two newsstands from the film, one belonging to The Daily Planet, and the other to the Metropolis Eagle, both running stories about Superman. The tweet read:

“The set dressing on the Superman set here in Cleveland is almost complete. I love the little details that NO ONE will see.”
Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman is the first movie in Warner Bros.' rebooted DC Universe to center around the titular comic book hero. It introduces a new version of the Man of Steel after Henry Cavill’s departure from the role, honoring the character’s roots as “the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way.”

As positive as Brian Lumley’s sentiment was, fans were very quick to zoom in on the photos, discovering two new images of Corenswet’s Superman saving people. The Daily Planet’s story read “Superman Stops MTA Rail From Running Off The Tracks”, with a photo of Superman in front of the moving train, grinding it to a halt. The image also features a fun nod to Superman lore, as the headline image’s caption reads “Photo Credit: Jimmy Olson”, referencing Superman’sbest-friend at The Daily Planet(played by Skyler Gisondo in the film). Metropolis Eagle’s story read"Superman Saves 20 After Downtown Building Collapse.“The photo likely shows Superman after the incident, as he poses stoically with his hands behind his back. This photo also gives fans a better look at Superman’s iconic red underwear, which can just about be seen in the official photo revealed by Gunn earlier this year.
A clearer look at Corenswet in costume, along with Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific, has also surfaced. This was shared via DC Film News, as can be seen below.

The Superman Set Was For a “Big Action Scene”
James Gunn has not commented on the set photos, but Brian Lumley did reveal more in the original post’s comments. Replying to a comment about the newspapers' photo quality, Lumley teased what was being shot on the Cleveland set. Lumley firstly pointed out that audiences likely won’t get to see the newspapers in the film, as"The crazy thing is the newspaper boxes were facing the buildings, presumably away from the cameras”.
James Gunn Shares Sneak Peek at Superman’s Kent Family Farm
Superman director James Gunn revealed the first look at Superman’s humble beginnings.
Adding to his response, and giving another reason why audiences will likely miss the small set details, is that the crew are in Cleveland shooting a massive action scene for the movie. Lumley said:

“It’s a big action sequence being shot, so it’ll be quick cuts, etc.”
No official footage from the film has been released yet. But, with the film now well over halfway through production, fans are hooping for some more official content soon. Meanwhile, the film’s cast have been showing off theirnew superhero physiques on social media, getting audiences excited for James Gunn’sSuperman.
