With thesummer movieseason rapidly approaching, fans are getting ready for all of the blockbusters that will invade multiplexes across the country over the next four months. One of the most highly-anticipated movies among this summer crop of new releases is Warner Bros.Suicide Squad, arriving in theaters August 5. While we don’t know when another trailer will arrive, today we have a new photo, featuringWill Smithas Deadshot andMargot Robbieas Harley Quinn. Harley is seen giving Deadshot a sinister smile, although we aren’t sure where in the story this scene takes place, or what Harley could be smiling about.

When production was under way in Toronto, we mostly sawHarley Quinninteracting with The Joker (Jared Leto) in the numerous set photos and videos that surfaced during principal photography. Harley Quinn and The Joker are said to be romantically linked in this movie, but we have seen a few images ofDeadshotand Harley Quinn interacting, including some where Deadshot is carrying Harley in his arms. This photo from theLos Angeles Timesshows Harley and Deadshot in good spirits, but there have also been rumors that Deadshot and Harley’s first meeting isn’t under the best of circumstances.

Long before production started, it was rumored that one of the early scenes inSuicide SquadfeaturedWill Smith’s Deadshot trying to assassinate an inmate before he is transferred to Arkham Asylum. His mission is interrupted when Harley Quinn suddenly appears to try and break The Joker out of prison, resulting in both Deadshot and Harley Quinn getting caught. Both Deadshot and Harley Quinn, along with The Joker, are moved to Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) special prison known as Belle Reve, which also houses Boomerang (Jai Courtney), who isn’t a fan of Deadshot since he killed his father.

The third act reportedly climaxes with a massive prison riot where most of the inmates escape, including The Joker, who kills several people. There is reportedly a lot of action scenes in the script, with the story focusing primarily on Deadshot, Harley Quinn and The Joker. The Joker is said to have “a large part” in the movie, but he doesn’t spring into action until the prison riot. There have also been rumors that Batman (Ben Affleck) will confront The Joker during this prison riot, perhaps to get revenge for the death of his beloved sidekick Robin.

We saw inBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicethat Bruce Wayne is still mourning the loss of Robin, whose costume rests in a display case, featuring a hand-scrawled message that appears to be from The Joker. DirectorZack Snyderhas revealed in previous interviews that Robin was killed 10 years before the events ofBatman v Superman, and since we knowBen Affleckwill return asBatman, perhaps the Caped Crusader will attempt to avenge hissidekick’s death. Of course, that’s all speculation for now, but until we get more details, check out this newSuicide Squadphoto below.
