A new clip of Franka Potente as Mother Mayhem inSeason 4of DC’sTitanshasbeen released, courtesy of New York Comic Con. For a while, we’ve known the new supervillains were coming to the show and earlier this month, we also got our first look at what Mother Mayhem in costume was going to look like. Now we get to see the character in action. The official synopsis of the season is as follows:

“In the upcoming fourth season, debuting this November on HBO Max, having saved Gotham, the Titans hit the road to head back to San Francisco. But after a stop in Metropolis, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a supernatural cult with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before.”

The clip begins with Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing (Brenton Thwaites), telling the other Titans to “suit up.” They include Rachel Roth, aka Raven (Teagan Croft), Conner, aka Superboy (Joshua Orpin), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), Tim Drake (Jay Lycurgo), and Starfire (Anna Diop). They confront the new villain this season one-on-one and they all end up getting thrashed. Ending with an explosive conclusion courtesy of Starfire and Mother Mayhem’s energy blasts meeting.

The Other Villains Appearing inTitans

Originally created by Marv Wolfman and John Byrns, Anna Resik, aka Mother Mayhem, first made her DC Comics debut inNew Teen Titans AnnualVol. 2 #2 in 1986. She is a high-ranking member of the Church of Blood, a cult led by Brother Blood, who we know will be played by Joseph Morgan in the new season as well. Like with Mother Mayhem, we’ve had the opportunity to see Brother Blood in a promotional video and photos as well.

Theofficial teaserforTitansSeason 4 released by HBO Max shows a hand emerging from a pool of blood, accompanied by ominous chanting. The words sound a lot like “Azarath Metrion Zinthos,” a phrase Raven famously used in theTeen Titansanimated series to control her powers. So it seems this version of Brother Blood will retain a connection to Raven and/or her father, Trigon (Seamus Dever), a character who hasn’t been seen on Titans since the Season 2 premiere.

If all that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got a clip ofLex Luthor (Titus Welliver), who’ll also appear during the season. Season 4 is set to have several new villains, with Luthor appearing “towards the beginning” of the new season. The clip also makes it seem like he’ll be the one who sets the plot in motion as it shows the Titans deciding to stop in Metropolis because the Superman archenemy contacted Connor while they were on the road.

Titansseason 4 is set to premiere on HBO Max on November 3. Right now, the show’s first three seasons are available for you to watch on the streaming service. Stay tuned for future updates on the superhero show.
