Nicolas Cage Fans React to ‘Gunslingler’s First Trailer

As with any Nic Cage movie where the actor goes 110% on his performance, fans have very mixed reactions. The comments under the trailer on YouTube are filled with divided opinions aboutGunslingers. Some are embracing the film as another campy Nic Cage B-movie which, while it won’t win any major awards, will still be an entertaining watch. “He is always Full-Cage, no half measures no matter the script, budget or anything - I’m going to watch it!” wrote one user. Others joked about Nic Cage’s hilariously out-of-place sunglasses, with one user even joking “I bet Cage brought those glasses from home.”

However, other fans were upset that Nicolas Cage appears to be back peddling on the great improvements he’s made to his recent filmography. Over the past few years,Cage has starred in hits likeDream Scenario,Arcadian,Pig,The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and, most recently,Longlegs. But, to many,Gunslingerslooks like a return to the B-movie schlock Cage was associated with during the 2010s. “Just as Cage was pulling his career from the depths they go and drag him back in,” wrote one user. Many also thought the film looked surprisingly cheap, despite its impressive cast, with another user saying, “This looks like a bunch of friends decided to get together on a Sunday afternoon and make a low-budget movie.”
