ActorNorman Reeduswill not let the end ofThe Walking Deadkeep him from staying busy.Deadlinereports that Reedus has just signed on to join the ensemble cast ofThe Bikeriders, a drama movie in the works at New Regency. From filmmaker Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special,Loving), the film will feature an ensemble cast that includes Reedus alongside Austin Butler (Elvis), Jodie Comer (Free Guy), Tom Hardy (Venom: Let There Be Carnage), Michael Shannon (Nine Perfect Strangers), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), and Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).
The movie is said to be inspired by the photography of Danny Lyon featured in the 1967 bookThe Bikeriders. It’s an original story set in the 1960s that follows the rise of a motorcycle club in the Midwest. Per the Deadline report, the film is seen through the lives of its members as “the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.” Given Reedus' love for motorcycles, which has even extended to hisWalking Deadcharacter Daryl Dixon, the actor’s casting inThe Bikeridersseems like a no-brainer.

Nichols is directing the film. Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones are producing via Tri-State while Fred Berger will executive produce. A release date has not yet been set for the film, though shooting recently began in Ohio.

Norman Reedus Is Not Finished With Daryl Dixon Just Yet
He might be picking up other roles and preparing for the end ofThe Walking Dead, but fans can look forward to seeing plenty more of Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon. It was previously announced that Reedus would continue on as the character alongside Melissa McBride in a spinoff series focused on Daryl and Carol Peletier. Because McBride later dropped out of the project, it was retooled to be a series focusing primarily on Daryl, now dubbed as simplyDaryl Dixon. It’s one of many shows that will continue to expand the world ofThe Walking Deadeven with the main series soon coming to its close.
Reedus will be popping up in other movies as well. It was reported last year thatplans were being put into motion forThe Boondock Saints 3which would reunite Reedus with co-star Sean Patrick Flanery and director Troy Duffy. The current status of that film is unclear.
