Mike Flanagan, one of modern horror’s most interesting auteurs (Netflix’sThe Haunting of Hill House,Doctor Sleep) istaking over the revampingofThe Exorcistfranchise for Blumhouse, and has nowoffered a terrifyingly promising update regarding his horror sequel. After Jason Blum’s company teamed up with Morgan Creek Entertainment for a new trilogy, David Gordon Green led the project and directedThe Exorcist: Believer, the 2023 follow-up to the original 1973 feature. The results weren’t as great as producers expected, and weeks after the release, Green exited the planned trilogy....

The recent Sony and Marvel Studios news in regard toSpider-Manhas started a movement. Taking a cue from the Storm Area 51 event, Marvel fans are planning to do the same thing, except they’re storming Sony and, as of this writing, there are nearly 3,000 people ready to do so. Pacific Rim Uprisingis a rollicking robot and monster beatdown. There’s a story wedged in between the carnage. It’s fairly silly and nonsensical, but thankfully doesn’t detract from the entertainment value of the film. No one is walking into this sequel expecting a think piece. After years in the making, the long-awaitedRoboCopdocumentary has finally wrapped filming. Rumors of dramatic reshoots onRogue Onemay have been greatly exaggerated. This, according to Mads Mikkelsen, who starred in the 2016Star Warsmovie as Galen Erso. It is indeed true that the Disney/Lucasfilm production underwent extensive reshoots and rewrites before its release. Much was made of this in the press ahead of and following the movie’s release. After the first footage unspooled at this past year’s New York Comic Con, fans finally got an official look atSpider-Man: Far from Homethis morning with the first full trailer.
