Just as the new trailer for Ncuti Gatwa’s first season ofDoctor Whowas released, the actorRichard Franklin(not to be confused with the Australian director) passed away. He starred in more than 40 episodes of the iconicBBC sci-fi show, becoming iconic for his role as Captain Mike Yates, a member of the British military organization UNIT which helped defend Earth from alien attacks and often worked with the Time Lord. Franklin was 87 and died in his sleep on Christmas Day....

Netflix’s love of Stephen King is about to continue with a new movie based on the short storyMr. Harrigan’s Phonefrom the horror master’sIf It Bleedscollection. Following the successful adaptation ofIn the Tall Grass, based on the King story co-written by his son Joe Hill, and1922,Mr. Harrington’s Phonewill be adapted and directed by John Lee Hancock and stars Donald Sutherland in the eponymous role alongside Jaeden Martell.
