Despite spanning six outstanding seasons and an unreleased film, it sounds likeSteven Knight, the creator ofPeaky Blinders, isn’t quite ready to wrap up the franchise. The Shelby family’s gritty world will continue to expand beyondThe Immortal Man,the highly anticipated feature filmexpected to be released in 2026. With filming now officially wrapped,Knight has hinted that the film will serve as a fitting sendoff to “this part” of the saga.
Speaking withBBC Breakfast, Knight not only shared his thoughts on the upcoming film but also teased the possibility of a newPeaky Blindersproject, confirming that the story of Thomas Shelby and his Birmingham crime gang is far from over. He stated:

“It’s not over, let’s just put it like that. I’m not allowed to announce it… but I’m just saying that the world of Peaky will continue.”
Steven Knight Is Excited About ‘The Immortal Man’
This isn’t the first time Steven Knight hastalked about expanding the franchise. Back in December 2024, in an interview withDeadline, Knight confirmed the production wrap-up ofThe Immortal Manahead of the holidays. When asked about whether he’s eyeing more projects beyond thePeaky Blindersfilm, the creator dropped subtle hints. In his words:
“Well, it’s interesting you should ask that question because the film is coming out. It won’t be the end, let me put it that way. I’m not saying none of it.”

It’s only been a couple of months since Knight referred to anotherPeaky Blindersproject, but it appears he is determined to stay tight-lipped. It is likely that the upcoming film will serve as a springboard for another series or a film, hopefullygiving rise to multiple spin-offsthat explore the world ofPeaky Blindersin a grittier fashion.
How Jason Statham Missed Out on the Lead Role in Peaky Blinders
Action star Jason Statham almost played Tommy Shelby on Peaky Blinders. Here is why it didn’t happen.
Steven Knight, the writer and producer, who is currently juggling several projects, includingHouse of Guinness,Roads to Freedom, andFerrari, is particularly excited aboutThe Immortal Man. Directed by Tom Harper, the film isstacked with an ensemble of A-list actors, led by the Oscar-winning Cillian Murphy, whose portrayal of Thomas Shelby has become so iconic that he’s better known as Tommy than himself.

Murphy will be joined by returning cast members Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck, while new additions, such as Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Barry Keoghan, and Jay Lycurgo, are expected to play significant roles. Here’s what Steven Knight has to say aboutThe Immortal Man:
“We’re putting it together now,” before promisingly commenting, “I would say this, wouldn’t I? But it’s fantastic. We’ve got the best, I think, the best British actors all in one place, including Stephen [Graham]. The stuff that I’m watching – the rushes, the assemblies – no one will be disappointed. It is quite an incredible thing.”
Though most of the plot details regardingThe Immortal Manremain under wraps, Knight previously disclosed toRadio Timesthat the film will explore an untold story from the Second World War. ConsideringPeaky Blinderswas always meant to conclude around the beginning of World War II, Knight has clearly found good reason to continue. And it could result in something extraordinary.
