Fans are still waiting to see what will happen withPirates of the Caribbean 6, as it remains unclear what will happen next with thePirates of the Caribbeanfranchise. Another film seems inevitable, as producer Jerry Bruckheimer says there are active plans to get another movie off the ground. Johnny Depp has sworn he wouldn’t return as Jack Sparrow for any new movies given his falling out with Disney, and while there have been reports of Margot Robbie leading a female-led reboot, she has stated that the project has been shelved.
In any case, whatever does end up happening with the franchise, actorJack Davenportis all ready to return as Commodore Norrington should Bruckheimer give him that call. In a new chat withEntertainment Weeklyto promoteThe Accused, Davenport was asked if he’d be up for reprising his role as Norrington for his ownPirates of the Caribbeanreboot, given how Marvel andStar Warscharacters have been getting that treatment at Disney+. Davenport admits that the ods of a Norrington spinoff happening are practically zero, but he’s still more than happy to step up if that’s something that does end up coming to fruition.

“A snowball in hell has a stronger chance of survival than the Commodore Norrington reboot, but sure,” Davenport says, going on to let Bruckheimer know he’s waiting for the call. “Jerry, if you’re watching, which I know you’re not, I’m there. Yes, you can put me back in brigade, I’ll do it.”
Fans might recall that Norrington was killed off in the thirdPirates of the Caribbeanmovie,At World’s End. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t be featured in a prequel series. As magic is also established to exist in thePirates of the Caribbeanworld, it’s theoretically possible for Norrington to be resurrected as well.

What Will Become of Captain Jack Sparrow?
Fans may be mostly concerned about the status of Captain Jack Sparrow. During his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard, resulting from allegations she had made that Depp had physically abused her, Depp testified that he was fired by Disney because of the controversy. Some fans are hoping that Depp can return to the franchise after essentially clearing his name in court with a jury siding in his favor, but Depp also testified he felt so betrayed by the firing that he doesn’t think he can ever work with Disney again.
“There was a very deep and distinct feeling of having been betrayed by the people that I had been working with, the people I had worked hard for, people I had delivered a character to that they initially despised,” Depp said in court.
It’s always possible Depp could end up changing his mind as the trial gets further and further behind him. For now, the status ofPirates of the Caribbeanremains unclear, though Bruckheimer has said that progress ismoving forward on another planned filmseparate from the Margot Robbie reboot.
