The Sandmanfans were incredibly disappointed when Netflix announced that the hit fantasy series would come to an end after its second season, despite having enough source material to support at least four more. The second season drops on Netflix next month, and fans are gearing up for the beginning of the end forThe Sandman. Ahead of its release, Netflix has teased what is in store for the new and final season by revealing the episode titles. The news also comes with a slight bonus, as Season 2 technically won’t be the last ofThe Sandmanbecause Netflix has another bonus episode in store.

Per What’s On Netflix, the streamer has released the official episode titles for thefinal ever season ofThe Sandman.Season 2 will run for a total of 11 episodes. Given the vast quantity of source material still left to adapt, fans have questioned how Netflix will cut years' worth of comic books down into a single season, while satisfyingly bringing the series to a close. The episode titles have somewhat clued fans in as to how Netflix will achieve this. Hint: it involves a lot of changes.

‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Will Include a Bonus Episode

Along with the 11 episodes listed above, Season 2 ofThe Sandmanwill bring the series to a close with a special bonus episode. Titled “Death: The High Cost of Living,” the episode will center on the three-issue miniseries of the same name, penned by Gaiman and illustrated by Chris Bachalo and Mark Buckingham. If the episode follows the story from the comics, it will center on Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) on the annual day of the year she spends among the living. In the comics, Death poses as a girl named Didi who helps a centuries-old homeless woman find her heart and befriends a struggling teenager.

Like many of Netflix’s big releases,Season 2 ofThe Sandmanhas been split into two volumes. Volume 1 premieres on July 3. Volume 2 will be released three weeks later on July 24. Fans will then have to wait another week for the bonus episode, which drops on July 31. Tom Sturridge returns as Dream in the final season. Along with most of the supporting cast from Season 1, the final season will also introduce audiences to Dream’s sister Delirium (Esme Creed-Miles).
